Her Land of Hope

The Pain, the agony and the eternal wait,
The memory of miseries and her silent wail,
Reveal the sadness in the eyes, behind the viel,
as she moves around in her land unvieled.

In the land of hope, there is fire and rubble,
as the raging anger breaks the bubble.
She rues the day, the pain shall finally erupt,
As peace in this land, is now a word corrupt.
---------------------------------------------
She knows her unborn children shall return ,
her misery and pain with just returns.
With justice, peace and progress,
The blooms in her forgotten land shall return.

There is a land in the dreams for her childen,
wrapped in an embrace of happiness and joy.
Her dream for tomorrow wells in her eyes,
and she weeps silently behind her viel.

(I wrote this poem a couple of years back when i was on tour and watching a clip on television of a family who lost all its loved ones in the attacks in lebanon by the Israeli Army. This poem is devoid of politics and is only based on the feelings of the woman shown on screen )
